I apologize for the delay in getting out the 2004 alt.movies.silent
calendars -- the first samples shown to me were unacceptable, so I had
to do a lot of wrangling and get the copy shop to bring in a
technician and tune up their machine. HOWEVER, the final samples are
extremely impressive. They are running the calendars on a color
printer rather than black and white (while only charging me the black
and white rate) so there is no half-toning, just pretty, high-res
grey-scale. But the process is slow, and they were unable to get the
run done before I leave for Massillon tomorrow morning. I am keeping
everyone's checks safe here, and when I return Monday I will spend a
good chunk of the day stuffing calendars in envelopes and mailing them
out.

And if you haven't already ordered your calendar, get one! Where else
will you learn what Gloria Swanson did for her 17th birthday?

Net proceeds benefit film restoration. Ordering details are at the
Mont Alto web site, just click the "Calendars" link in the news area.

Yippee! (Forgive that very un-vamp-like exultation...but I'm inspired.
And you should try skipping with glee with that train
involved....oi.) I very luckily picked up my order last night (hot off
the press) and I have to say these are terrific for sure. Despite the
printing problems the end result is very nice so don't miss out on
them. They're simply grand. Special note to the Daughters of Naldi:
be sure to have your ostrich feather fans ready for the month of
August. MMMMMMmmmmmmmmm.

I don't suppose they tried to pull that "they're silent movie stars; the
pictures are *supposed* to be all scratchy and out of focus" routine....

Is that "what" she did or "whom"?...

I'll get to this next payday, the same time I send out my last order to
Grapevine...(you'd think I could manage a shipping discount since they're local
to me)....r

Yeah, but I'm on the West Coast! There's a three-hour time difference!

My news server's on the same coast yours is (judging from the timestamp), and
even if it were local to me that's only a *one* hour difference....r
