I mean Australians, and really any other time zone that sees midnight long
before I do. It won't be January 1 for another 13 hours, but Hong Kong just
saw the new year!
So to those in 2004, happy new year! To those still stuck in 2003, party
safely tonight! find a girl to kiss at midnight (even if you're female...
this is 2003/04!), and after all that is said and done... happy new year! >> Stay informed about: So how's 2004 for you people from the future? |

I'd guess that couldn't be wrong. I haven't been without someone for longer
than a few months in over six years. Therefore, I'm reasonably due
reasonably soon. :-P

These days, actually, they're just waiting for absolute perfection, which I
guess is what most of the guys are waiting for too. The smarter people know
that perfection doesn't exist, but the next best thing is a good match that
makes things interesting, fun, and sometimes not so fun... I'm just looking
for a challenge. If I feel superior or inferior in a relationship, it
doesn't work. We've got to be pretty much on even ground or even a nearly
perfect girl will bore me or scare me after a few weeks.

I ignored all of the traditions but one this year. No fireworks, no kissing
at midnight, no drinking, no partying... but I did watch the ball drop, so I
knew it was 2004. Now it's time to get used to writing "2004" on my papers
instead of "2003". >> Stay informed about: So how's 2004 for you people from the future? |

I had the worse new year's ever. My date decided to push me away, so I had
no fun. Hopefully 2004 will be a year of "a new hope" (hence, star wars
style), but I honestly do need a new hope.

Yes but I took her to Times Square and when the ball dropped at midnight,
damnit, I cried in such anger a part of me died that night.

Thank you for the kind words there JPM III, I hope I find someone soon. I
can't believe the pain, heck, I watched both Matrix movies today and I am
still suffering.

Guess many of us know where you are now and understand that watching movies
is not going to take the pain away. Don't be afraid to feel it. Be blue and
sad and just cry and suffer. Soon you'll be happy, with yourself, and
someone else may enter your world as an extra. I send you a comforting hug
from the other side of the earth: (((fish)))
Take care, it will be all right,

This was the worst date I ever had in my entire life. I actually regret ever
calling her in the first place.
I took her and her son out to an expensive restaurant in Manhattan, now I
regret it.
She just pushed me away, refused to have our picture taken, I couldn't hold
her hand, kiss her, you name it. She told me not to touch her, then she got
mad when I walked away.
> I send you a comforting hug

I thank you very much for your understanding.
> Take care, it will be all right,
I must live my life. I may go to Manhattan this Saturday and see a show or
two. I must get out there and with the luck of God, maybe I may find that
special someone. Heck, it happened to Neo and he wasn't even looking!

I've seen a documentary about young singles in New York and how they were
looking for miss/mister 'Perfect'. It made me feel sick! All those unhappy
people, not satisfied with themselves, trying to find perfection in someone
else or a relationship. First you have to love yourself, knowing how perfect
you are, before you are able to share the love and to find the perfection in
another person. If you find something annoying about someone else, you are
pushing away the pain of the fact that you are not accepting a part of
yourself. A relationship is all about the self, because that is what a
person is sharing with another being. You can't do anything about another
person, you can do everything about yourself. We've had this discussion
before, so if I go any further, I will be repeating myself. It isn't bad in
another newsgroup, but we're way off topic here.

I've been kissing at 00.00, had some wine, but no partying, no fireworks.
When I called my parents, my father started crying because they had to put
the dog to sleep the day before. My mum was so upset that she caused a
carcrash, she drove the car against a pole on the way back home from the
vet. Well, I didn't feel like partying after that. I've known that dog for
eleven years and hearing my 62 year old father cry was a terrible beginning
of this year :'-( But well, I've got Adri and Elvis to kiss.
I hope you get used to writing 2004 on your papers soon ;-)

Yeah, America's social life is in a pretty sad state right now. TV
bastardizes everything, and people treat the fictions they see on screen as
representations of real life. They don't realize that, aside from being
"realistic" entertainment, it's a long running joke on life as we want it to
be! Ordinary life doesn't make for good TV, because we get to live that. But
people don't understand... they want to live the TV life. And that is why
they stay unhappy and why they grow up to be so pessimistic. They expect so
much from life that should never be expected. >> Stay informed about: So how's 2004 for you people from the future? |

She's right. It's something we've all been through, and the best way to get
through it just to jump into the deep end, drown in it for a short while,
and before you know it you'll wonder what the hell you're doing there... and
you'll be back on your feet before you even realize why. Emotions are
allowed to take over sometimes. :-P >> Stay informed about: So how's 2004 for you people from the future? |
