Post subject: a 302 fader question
Archived from groups: rec>arts>movies>production>sound (more info?)

i am considering getting a 302 as a backup for my 442 and was
wondering. is it possible to replace the knobs on the 302 for the ones
found on the 442 in order to make it easier to use with with one finger
per fader - for crossfades etc whilst booming or drinking coffee. or
are the pots a different diameter / length to the ones on the 442.
thanks if anyone is able to answer

Rich

I highly doubt it, since the size of the face of the 302 is
signifigantly smaller. Even if it does physically fit, the new fader
knobs will probably cover up the recessed switches etc on the face of
the 302.

A smaller version of the 442 fader knobs would possibly work and be a
welcome modification!

ah! a good point. there may be some where that does that kind of thing.
i wonder if the ones on the sqn 2s
http://sqn.co.uk/2Sspec.html
might do it. if not, i think a search of electronics component
catalogues will be the best bet. oh joy.

Yes indeed!!! I replaced my 442 knobs with ones from the mixpre.
They're a bit taller and much narrower. I would think you can buy
replacement mixpre knobs from SD.
