Quick 788T question.

Is there a way to send a mix to camera out of the L/R channels using
the CL8, without actually recording a stereo mix track in record mode?

Thanks in advance,
Jesse

Sure, I do it all the time. Works like a charm, just don't arm the
tracks on your 788t, so you won't record anything on the recorder.

When I bring up the fader on my CL-8 I can see levels on the single
LED, but cant get anything out of L/R. If I route the track to L or R
using the CL-8 softkeys I get an output signal but this auto-arms the
L or R track into record mode. Is there some input or output routing
detail I am missing?

Recorder is set to 8 track ISO mode
Mic is plugged into track one, armed and brought up on the CL-8 fader
Output 1 is assigned to Track L at 0 db
Output 2 is assigned to Track R at 0 db

Thanks,
Jesse

press input. in the window, see if there is an asterisk by the L and R
tracks. if so, using the select wheel on the right toggle the record
arm asterisk off by selecting the track you want to arm or disarm and
pushing the button in.
(its explaind more cleary on page 7 of the manual.)

Jesse,

Press the input button, this will put you into the Track Setup screen.

There should be a box around the L track designator. Press the encoder
(multifunction selector), the asterisk next to the L should disappear.

Scroll down to the R. Press the encoder and the asterisk will again
disappear.

You have now completely disarmed the L/R tracks. They will not record
no matter what is routed to them.

For more detailed info see Page 37 of the current 2.01 manual.
