Any ideas on how to identify a model # for a B&H 8mm camera with a
10mm /f 1.9 lens and the electric eye? It's a slender model more tall
than wide that uses a top/bottom spool set-up. The empty spool that
came with the camera says "Film when in this spool is only
half-exposed."

Any help would be appreciated.

Do a search at ebay.com Type in "Bell Howell movie camera" and look
around til you find one that matches. Some of the old B&H's only give
the model number on the manual which someone may have with theirs for
sale.

Sometimes it's written inside the film chamber.
