- Directors of Independent Film, Television, and Print Photo Shoots
See Benefits to Using Amateur Photographers for Location Scouting -

Location scouts serve a vital role in media and entertainment
productions. They identify venues for movie scenes, television shows,
commercials, magazine spreads, and print advertisements. For major
motion pictures and other media projects with large budgets, location
scouting is performed by trained professionals. However, independent
films and other lower budget productions cannot always afford the
union wages of a professional location scout.

For these independent productions, location scouting may be performed
by the director himself. Several venues in different cities may be
under consideration for a particular scene of a film or as the
background for a photo shoot. And, when the budget is tight, the
director may not wish to spend the time and money to visit each of the
potential sites.

In this situation, the director may find it useful to hire amateur
photographers who live near each of the candidate locations. The
images provided by each of the photographers can help the director to
narrow the list of potential filming venues. Another situation where
a local amateur photographer may assist is when the director has
already chosen a particular location and he simply needs to confirm
that the condition of the site has not changed since his last visit.

In the past, the challenge for a director may have been to find a
willing photographer near each of the potential filming locations.
However, that is no longer a problem because a new service called
GoSee4Me (http://www.GoSee4Me.com) enables directors to find amateur
photographers anywhere around the world who have expressed an interest
in performing this type of work.

An image of any object, structure, or physical location can be
obtained inexpensively from GoSee4Me because their amateur
photographers bid against each other to provide the photos, which
drives the price down to an affordable level. Directors can use the
service as needed because GoSee4Me operates on a pay-per-use basis
rather than by subscription.
