"Nosferatu" at the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor. October 28, 2007
7:00pm.

The Michigan Theatre is one of those old movie palaces that
has been completely restored to it's former glamor.
"Nosferatu," the landmark 1922 vampire chiller from director F.W.
Murnau, is returning to Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater for an Oct. 28
screening. Accompaniment will be provided by Steve Ball on the Barton
Theater Organ starting at 7 p.m.; audience members are being invited to
wear Halloween costumes. Details: (734) 668-TIME, www.michtheater.org

It is considered to have near perfect acoustics and performers love it
for its natural sound

I've seen several films there with a full orchestra, as well as
smaller ensembles and they've all been enjoyable. The theatre truly is
a palace, and very comfortable.
When you're on the main floor near the front, it's easy to forget that
there's a live orchestra because of way the pit conceals them from view.
Up in the balcony, you can get a good look at the entire performance.
This film is accompanied by the Barton Theatre Organ, so I imagine
that will also fill the room with sound, and perhaps some sound effects
as well.
