Ann Coulter's writing doesn't hold a candle to Andre Soare..

Who is Andre Soares? The author of "Beyond Paradise: The Life of Ramon
Novarro." Soares researches his subject extensively, doesn't rant and
USES FOOTNOTES THROUGHOUT! Can the same be said for Ms. Coulter?

I know this is off topic, but Novarro WAS working in films the same
time as Chaplin (and also got smeared as a red in the thirties;
fortunately for him it was quickly debunked). And, since Annie's been
getting some free publicity in this newsgroup, I thought I'd take the
time to give some to my friend Andre too. Unfortunately, he doesn't
have Richard Mellon-Scaiffe to buy his book in bulk and make it a best
seller, so he has to rely on people who have READ the book to give it
a plug here and there.

So I do encourage you to pick up Beyond Paradise. Andre isn't blond,
nor does he wear mini-skirts (although he might put one on for a few
bucks), but I think you'll enjoy his book much more than "Treason".

Agreed. This is a superb book; intelligently written. Any aficionado of Ramon
Novarro or silent film in general should read/buy this biography.
