| Some way short of the Oscars wasn't it? Shaky camerawork, missing or late
music cues, echo-y sound the whole night, and the script *really* needed
more humour. Considering the international talent present in the room, it
should have been a lot better.

I missed half an hour of it whilst I watched Catterick. Were there any TV
awards or was it all films?

it used to be film and tv awards combined but they separated the 2
ceremonies a few years ago. Tonight it was just the film awards. >> Stay informed about: BAFTA show - a bit naff? |

You surprise me Dom. Are you really that uninspired by the popular
conception of quality movies these days? Has the fever gone where
blockbusters are concerned? >> Stay informed about: BAFTA show - a bit naff? |

Considering the international talent present in the room, why the hell did
they ask Alicia Silverstone to present an award ??? >> Stay informed about: BAFTA show - a bit naff? |

Is she still around? I thought she'd died and gone to actress heaven[1].
[1] TVM afternoon movies (C5).

Yes I noticed there was no review Lord of the Rings on your site when I was
looking for something to buy for my new DVD (did I mention...). Very
dissapointing Dom, very dissapointing;-) The extended editions are great
value considering all the documentary stuff you get. I only wish as much
effort had gone into some of the other DVDs I`ve seen.

I watched Trouble At The Top the other night about Stelios and easyCinema.
He had trouble getting any films from big companies at first to show in his
new cinema. He had to threaten them with legal action before they would
budge.

It`s still advertised on their website. You have to admire the blokes cheek.
After enticing people into the theatre by charging only 20p he then sent a
bucket aroung the audience asking for contributions before the film was
shown.

I suppose I'm one of the few people who recognised the music they played
during the dead roll of honour. Just the right kind for the occasion,
admittedly, but from a 'panned' film with a rather inappropriate title,
in the circumstances!
