Nope. The Wes Craven retrospective I went to pretty much killed any
chance of seeing Gone Baby Gone this weekend.

Seems there's more than a few similar international documovies,
Bombay, Brazil, though from a 3rd world perspective, more of an
actuality than press fanfare when indignation arises to issues. I
once tried reading The Onion Field and had to put it down. Also saw
something of a woman, on a different tact, some self-instituted crises
outreach organization for runaway girls that end up hooking the
streets. A portion of significance within an intersecting scope of
national figures from missing children, overall. Perhaps no less
harrowing when presented victimization and emerging patterns of social
behaviorism derived through detailed interviews. I doubt at any level
a movie destined for wider audiences, if to contend with a depth
squalor fathoms, or emerge intact for entertainment values with Morgan
Freeman in it. In the first place, I find them repressive, in the
second, immaterial. There's little to shock me in the Seven Deadly
Sins, and less that's disturbing. And actual case studies don't
concern or affect most people within statistical significance. Dogma
is the only thing I'd care offhand to watch from his linage. >> Stay informed about: ""Gone Baby Gone"" |

I saw it Sat. All I'll tell you is that it was like "Mystic River,"
only good. >> Stay informed about: ""Gone Baby Gone"" |

Can't really say much with spoiling the plot points. Though, many, many
parts strained credibility, especially the ending. I thought Affleck was
good, and so was the mother. There's also some very good set pieces, and
the character actors they used to play all of the bit parts were solid as
well (except maybe Cheese). I'd probably give it a 6/10.
Though, I agree it was a lot like "Mystic River," but actually worth
seeing.

I don't know... I find Casey Affleck's voice extremely grating, I'm
debating whether I should see it or wait till dvd. >> Stay informed about: ""Gone Baby Gone"" |

Indeed, I liked the books in that order, too, fwiw. I'll probably
have GONE tomorrow... and, equally probably, will post...

He was outstanding. He and Ed Harris made the whole movie. >> Stay informed about: ""Gone Baby Gone"" |
