I bought a used B&H 456 8/Super8 projector. When I use it I can barely
see anything (new bulb). It seems that one of the lenses is all fogged
up. Perhaps oil leaked in and created a film. Has anyone ever
disassembled one of these?

I pulled the entire lens unit out of the projector, removed two very
small screws on the side and now have the unit with the conical shaped
end free, This piece has the 18mm - 30mm f/1.6 stamped on the chrome
part.

Anyway, there are two lenses in this unit. Both appear to be held in
place by a threaded ring with two slots 180 degrees apart. Looks like
one could make a tool from thin sheet steel that would be used sort of
like a screw driver. I haven't tried this yet and hope that someone
here can give me guidance.

Thanks
