The director, more and more these days, DOESN'T have the final say.
After all, if they *did* AVP would have been an 18.
A3 might have been watchable without cringing.

*rules of canon*... Well....
Put it this way.. conversely, are you saying there are NO rules regarding

Another example of your unprovoked hostility against other posters apparently
due to them replying with logical arguments that questions your biased
positions.

That's the dumbest thing you ever said - That is in opposition of YOUR
argument. If the company knew she hated androids (which they didn't) - why
would they send an android to talk to her? And why would they send the same
model she has been in contact with before, that according to their record she
doesn't even like?? That's absurd!

Of course. With regards to Alien - there ARE no rules regarding canonity. Other
film franchises actually have rules f canonity, but I never saw anything from
Fox with regards to Alien.
What you CAN use is the phrase "It is widely regarded as canon that..." to
point to people in general thinking that source X is regarded as canon.
But to claim knowledge about some magical rules are just absurd.

I find it odd that you would post anything about insults. As it is, you and
Adam are the ones who are quick on the insult-trigger in this group. Now
AdWatts seems to want to join that group.
Just found it ironic to have you comment on it.

Thanks, man. You are right. (And I *did* read ahead and see your
other post, but you are right to "put me in my place" when I make
a mistake!)
Not that I'm making any excuses, but I was getting pretty weary this
morning answering both Keith and Sandy. My loathing for our
resident psycho (Sandy) begin slipping into my replies to Keith.
Quite embarassing actually.
But I *always* apologize when I'm wrong; or at least try to.
Truth be told, I shouldn't even be posting to Usenet right now.
Just in a nasty frame of mind at the moment. But, again, that's
not an excuse. My behavior with Keith was inexcusable.
Thanks, again. Don't ever hesitate to set me straight! Or
Glen or Tracy or Adam or whomever . . .
Sorry, all.
Have a great day!

You need to take a little trip back in time, my firend.
Back to December of 2001 . . .
A little thread title Director's Cuts / Special Editions . . .
Let's take a quick look at the *first* insult that was slung
in that thread. It was by *you* towards Covenant:
"But, arrogance works too.
(Ooops, now I took advantage of you instead, sorry man, you were just such
an easy target.) :)"
You went on to call him a newbie, I believe.
I shudder to think about what all has transpired between you
and others here from that point until I "returned" several months
ago, but your tactics haven't changed. I'll give you that: you are
at least consistant.
I hate to go all "schoolyard" on you, but *you* started it. And
I have a *very* long memory!

Sure it does, if you read what Keith said.
If all our food was the consistency of soup... we'd not need teeth, so we
probably would no longer have them. But we have food too hard to just
drink, so we have teeth to grind it up. And we don't have two separate
eating apparatuses for eating soft and hard food.
So, if the alien - as Keith suggested - could also use, say plastic and
metal as food, then it's got to get it into a form to make use of it. And
teeth ain't gonna help. However it has this acid to dissolve it, whereupon
it can eat. So - in this analogy - it has a process of liquefying what it
eats, before eating it. That's how it eats.
So that makes the tongue thing both a feeding tube and an attack mechanism.
Fair enough. It doesn't really explain the rest of the teeth, though.
Maybe at some point in the recent developmental past of the alien, it
discovered it could liquefy anything and consume it, and that's how it does
it now. And the other teeth are mostly vesitgial. Certainly this has
happened to a certain extent with our own teeth. Whilst they're still
requireed apparatus, they're far less an attacking weapon, or a meat
rending tool as they used to be.
Or, you know, it could be turning Brett into an egg (which is what I
actually think is happening).
