Of course, if we want to go the "borrowed genetics" route, it may
only have teeth because we do.

Gee, let's not get *too* crazy now . . .

It's got a kinda grotesque "elegance" to it though, eh? I like it.

Hehe. Yeah.

Hadn't really thought about any of this until yesterday. This thread
was good for something anyway!

Have a great day!

Eh? I don't have a small plasma screen - what are you talking about?

The fact that it gets referred to as that is - in itself - grounds for me
to want to get the hell out.

In general I have very little bad to say about my country, but that's not
to say do't want to go off exploring other countries too!

Hell, those movies put your island on the map!

You're going to love the Miller Lite commercials which boast about
having great taste.

Any idea where you'll end up if you do move here? Red state or blue
state?

I was more suggesting he was the pot calling the kettle black. ie: he was
in no place to start suggesting he thought *your* posts were stupid, and
had been for a long time.

"island". There's three (main ones) you know.

I don't deny that one bit, and it's a good thing.

But NZers tend to act like a young child that's caught the attention of the
grown-ups @ a party in these sorts of situations, and it's quite
nationalistically-embarrassing (if there's such a concept).

BLUE.

That said, I wouldn't pre-judge any region of the States merely on the
basis of who voted for whom in you elections, before I find out for myself
what they're like.

You learn something new every day.

Has there been an influx of tourism from American LOTR geeks who want
to visit white halls of Minas Tirith, go hiking in the Misty Mountains
and drink mass quantities of local ale in the The Shire?

Can you tell I'm enjoying this?

It amuses me that you even know what red/blue state means. Did the
rest of the world follow our elections that closely?

Quite possibly. But Auckland (where I am) is just where the airport is; no
one in their right mind *stays here* once they touch down. That and I
don't go to the sort of places tourists might.

When your country stops arbitrarily invading other countries whenever it
feels like and generally meddling in everyone else's affairs, then the rest
of the world might stop hanging on your every whim.

So, yeah, we all watched the election quite closely.
