CASTING CALL - D.C. METRO AREA

"SISTERS" EXPERIMENTAL NARRATIVE VIDEO PROJECT SEEKS FOUR ACTRESSES

Internationally recognized video artist Gabriel Shalom is currently
seeking four young women (non-union) to act in an experimental video
project about sorority girls. A 19-page script will serve as the
foundation for a short (17-20 minute) film and a few short (3-5 minute)
improvised art pieces. This project is being financed by the Hochschule
für Gestaltung (High Academy of Design) in Karlsruhe, Germany. Gabriel
Shalom developed the script under the guidance of Razvan Radulescu
(author of the screenplay for The Death Of Mr. Lazarescu - Cannes Prix
Un Certain Regard).

- Auditions, callbacks, rehearsals and shoot to take place in the D.C.
metro area in early March 2007.
- A small honorarium will be paid to each actress.
- Prior experience with sororities a plus but not necessary.

"SISTERS" SCRIPT SYNOPSIS

Cassandra, Jenna and Jill spend the evening before their spring break
trip to Ibiza packing their suitcases while drinking and gossiping
about boys with their sorority sister Courtney. Cassandra discovers she
is finished packing due to a miscalculation about the luggage weight
limit and decides to celebrate by taking ecstasy with the three other
girls.

ROLES

Cassandra - college junior, Caucasian, age 21
A pampered pretty princess who orders the other girls around.
She is recently single, enjoys party drugs and is a bulimic.

Courtney - college junior, Caucasian, age 21
A boy-obsessed, jealous manipulator, she is constantly looking for
approval.
Due to her obligations as the Events Chair for her sorority she cannot
join the other girls in Ibiza.

Jenna - college sophomore, Caucasian, age 20
A prude poseur, she imitates Jill to fit in.
She believes herself to be intellectually superior to the other girls
but in fact is not.

Jill - college sophomore, Caucasian, age 20
A naive party-girl, she gossips to hide her own insecurities.
She is easily influenced by the other girls.
