Has anyone seen the new Charlie by, by Vance, yet? I have been looking for
it in some of the large book chains, and have not yet found it!!

If it is, where can you get it - and how is it??

According to a very recent post by David Shepard, it's terrific. Try search
google for the post...

It's out there. UPS dropped a copy on my doorstep this morning (via Amazon).

I only thumbed through it today at my local Borders so I can't vouch for
the writing. But as for the format, it is large and thick (400 pages) with
high quality, glossy paper. The text is inter-spread with the photographs,
of which there are many (like two or three per page throughout). So, it
almost seems as if it is a coffee table book, however, there is enough text
inside that I really wouldn't term it as such.

In regards to the photographs, there are numerous less familiar ones (many
never before seen to these eyes) -Chaplin directing behind the camera,
candid shots of Chaplin with his family, and pictures of Chaplin with Oona
at his Swiss estate. The usual stills are there too, but they have been
greatly cleaned up so it seems as if they are new. It is also somewhat
pricy, ($50 dollars, although, I see Amazon has it for $35).

My buddy is giving me the new Chaplin book for Christmas but I don't
get to see it until Dec 25. It's for sale at a local book store here
in Los Angeles called Book Soup on Sunset blvd.
