I've heard nothing about the Mutual DVDs being limited to 35mm only.
Why don't you see 'em before you piss on 'em, Doug?

Let's see...

I bought the Blackhawk prints.
I bought the re-mastered Blackhawk prints.
I bought the laser set.
And the re-mastered laser set.
And the re-remastered laser set.
Then the Image DVDs....

And I'd jump on the new one TOO, but it still feels like a waste of
money because I'm 100% sure I'll STILL be going to my shelf to pull
elements that are missing from these new re-re-re-re-remasters.

"But, Doug! They're in 16mm!"

Oh, oh... yeah. I forgot. The difference in image quality would be so
startling, I'm sure it would make for an entirely unsatisfactory
viewing experience...

(snort).

Because the same people have had a couple of decades and multiple video
releases to get it right, and have not.

We'll wait and see - but I suspect things like the missing minutes from
"The Immigrant" AREN'T going to be in there, and if the powers-that-be
are pressed, they'll claim the source material for that wasn't "up to
snuff" to the rest of the material they had.

I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong - but right now almost every
Mutual is missing material that's publically available (and has been so
long before this stuff started showing up on video).

By the way, it would have been nice to include the two minute Spanish
Dancer sequence from "The Adventurer" as a bonus. I would have been
happy to provide it. Indeed, since the copyright description is missing
for "The Adventurer" we have no way of knowing whether this was once
originally part of the film or not.

Gerald, if you're out there, do the Picture Play magazines go up
through the Mutuals? A detailed description of the original film would
solve the mystery.
