Hi guys,
I'm new here, so please be gentle with me.
I've only just stumbled across this board and I love it.
Thought I'd contribute..... about something that's just annoyed
me......

I've just noticed the Lobster Charley Chase(the European 2 DVD set)has
finally been released!
And guess what.......
Yeah, it's got more titles on than the Kino release BUT, it's missing
ALL WET.
Darghhhh!!!

Dear Serge and Shepherd,
Will you PLEASE stop doing this. It's blinkin' infuriating!!
Zut alor!
Yours,
Dave

You know, they did this with the Stan Laurel DVD too. (CHASING THE
CHASER is not on the European release). Yes, you may say "it's the
real world" and "hey, they've gotta make an extra buck" but it REALLY
P'S ME OFF!

breathe.....breathe.....sorry.....(gulp)
just letting off steam.....
I'll be alright in a minute....

oh by the way.... here's the full title list so you can salivate as
much as I have. My copy is on its way. I can't wait!
(and if anyone has ALL WET and CHASING THE CHASER......:) )

DISC 1 :

- WHAT PRICE GOOFY ? 1925
- MUM'S THE WORD 1926
- INNOCENT HUSBANDS 1925
- DOG SHY 1926
- HIS WOODEN WEDDING 1925

DISC 2 :

- MIGHTY LIKE A MOOSE 1926
- LONG FLY THE KING 1926
- CRAZY LIKE A FOX 1926
- BROMO AND JULIET 1926
- ISN'T SHE TERRIBLE ? 1925

Biographie illustrée de Charley CHASE
- SHINE'EM UP (1922)
Réalisation James DAVIS avec James "Paul" PARROTT
- APRIL FOOL (1924)
Réalisation Ralph CEDAR et James "Paul" PARROTT avec Charley CHASE

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the group. Milestone will soon solve (or compound) all your
Charley Chase problems, because they are coming out with a 15-title Charley
Chase set next year. Hopefully Dennis Doros will post some more
information, but I would imagine the set will be compiled from the surviving
Pathe* shorts.

* And speaking of irritants, don't you love how the (American) commentator
on the More Treasures From the Archives set who discusses the Ruth Roland
serial "Hands Up" refers to the releasing company as "Pa-tay", like she was
ordering pate de foie gras? Well, they may say "Pa-tay" in France, but I
have no doubt that the Americans who made the Roland serials pronounced it
"Pa-thay".

And Donald Crafton's commentary on "Gus Visser and his Singing Duck" is pretty
dreadful. Crafton has little future as a comedy writer.

Thanks Dennis for the info. I'll be buyin' that one for sure.
UNEASY THREE! Yippee!
and CARETAKER'S DAUGHTER is one of my faves.

However, I can't help notice that if you buy the Kino, the Lobster and
the Milestone, you'll end up with THREE copies of:
Mum's the Word, Long Fliv the King, Mighty Like a Moose and April
Fool.
Hmmmm.

A further point of note is that the order of release of these three
collections, is related to the size of selection of films on each.

1st - KINO - 6 films
2nd - LOBSTER - 12 films
3rd - MILESTONE - 15 films

No further questions your honour.

Let's not forget how beloved Raymond Rohauer pronounced Pathe: "PATH."

Sheesh,

We're complaining becuase someone pronounced the thing correctly?

How about Robert Osborne on the Around the World in 80 Days DVD
introducing "A Trip to the Moon" directed by George "Mel-eze". Is that
more to your taste?!
