Children of Men (2006) - that was IT??

Chldren Of Men is one of the most dreadful movies of all time. Really
bad. Some regs here love it, don't know why. Each his own I suppose.

I totally agree. The story of how they got to that point--the gradual
realization of infertility, growing horror--would have been
interesting. Also, the story afterward to rebuild would have been
interesting. The only boring part was the stuff in between, which was
basically this movie. I was seriously disappointed.

You are second-guessing the writer/producer/director.

The before story was told (or hinted at) in the exposition, which I
thought was very clever and minimal--I think future sci fi stories
often have too much exposition. The after story would have been much
more hopeful, but this movie wasn't supposed to be hopeful.

Both the before and after stories would have been more conventional.
They could be good, but this was the story they wanted to tell. More
of a challenge, don't you think?

The movie stunk because there was one, and only one point to it....
the "saviour" of humanity would be a black person.
That's the only plot. The purpose of the whole movie was to put that
idea in your minds.

If you people don't come to understand that political correctness
has spread like a nervous system throughout our media, controlling
EVERY bit of information/ideas we are exposed to, you'll just be
sheeple....robots.

Ha ha! Isn't it funny what people take away from the same film. I
couldn't have told you what colour the kid was and this was one of my
favourite films of last year. Presumably the liberal conspiracists
inserted the PC poison so deep in my subconcious I'm not even aware of
it.

..... How ignorant. Never have I seen, heard, or thought to myself that
the woman being black meant ANYTHING. Quit being so paranoid. The girl
just happened to be black. Your no better then blacks who bitch and moan
about not being enough blacks in films, etc.
