Hi everybody:
I recently purchased Vance's new book on Chaplin and love it, and I
was also seeking to buy Michel Comte's "Chaplin: A Photo Diary." I
finally saw it at a local Borders today, but looking through it,
something seemed amiss.
I recall reading an editorial blurb saying that there was an
introduction by Sophia Loren and (at the risk of seeming morbid) a
color photo of Chaplin "taken immediately before" his passing. None
of these were in the edition at Borders I looked at.
I have seen editions of the same book - such as Chaplin's "My Life in
Pictures" - published in the U.S., and also published abroad, which
differed slightly in content.
Does anyone know if this is the case here - is there a foreign edition
of Comte's book that is larger, unabridged, as compared to the one we
are finding here in US stores? I would certainly like to know this,
because the book is somewhat pricey ($50) and I would like to just buy
the larger of the editions (if indeed 2 are published).
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
everybody.
