Question about Denon AVR4306 Av Amp

I'm considering buying this amp. Two of the reasons I am tempted is its HDMI
upscaling/connectivity and its WMCS functiionality.

I have downloaded the user manual and am confused by a comment about
upscaling - but I may have read it wrong (I hope so!)

I believe it says that if you have an analogue based input (such as
composite video) the upscaling does not combine the video and audio from the
same source onto the HDMI feed - is this right?

Great Amp have had one since they came out.

Can't say that I've tried it Why would you want it to do that as that would defeat the need for a surround amp in the
first place wouldn't it ??
