I would consider it good enough to compare to Clint Eastwoods last two
pictures, of which it falls just short of equal excellence.
But this movie is damn worth paying for and seeing. The lineup and
actors were flawless in excellence regarding their trade.
Clints "Flags of our Fathers" might have a contender for taking the #1
position in this years lineup. Clints' last two movies had absolutely
no or extremely un-noticeable flaws, "The Departed" has about 5 small
but noticeable ones.
[mild SPOILER]
Mainly of which they were all at the end when at "the building" police
protocol once a suspect is shackled and subdued was not followed, this
turned from realism to absurdity in 2 seconds. "Unaccountables" such as
how did the other cops get to the building when Damons character was
only conacted by Dicaprios? Who called those other cops of which the
ending happened as it did? Clint Eastwood never would make such a
blooper and never has such as this.
Certain areas although minor were left unexplained, another area Clint
Eastwood has not demonstrated fault. But all in all this movie could
definitely qualify for best picture, on the count of Clint Eastwood
hosing it up. But that's not likely especially with DreamWorks
involved, oh wait, Steven Spielberg has really made some bombs...
Oh noooo!!! Clint, turn & run the way!! j/k.... Actually Spielbergs
"Munich" was about perfectly equal to "The Departed". That's how good
"The Departed" was, but still not equalling Clints last two...
>> Stay informed about: "The Departed" was stunningly excellent [SPOILER]
