Anyone here ever have the opportunity to see this in 3-D? .. Me, I
never did .. but I'd absolutely love to get the chance.
As I said before though .. seeing it in 3-D might enhance the effect
but I reckon not by much; Hitchcock's normal style of shooting is to
move the camera around in such a way as to make us acutely aware of
depth of vision of the image (hence, all the lamps, tables and so forth
that pass by our eyes in his films).
And Margot's leaning back on the bureau and reaching (seemingly to
us!), as she's being strangled by Swann, is already quite effective ..
although I imagine that would be even more heart-breaking in 3-D.
