Sounds as if there is a fire shutter that is supposed to close only
when you choose still protection that has closed inappropriately.
Generally, these are arranged so that a spring (or gravity) causes
them normally to close. Something in the mechanism is arranged to kick
them out of the light path when the film is in motion.
I don't know the mechanism of the T10, so can't say what to look for.
But you are better off if the shutter closes when it is supposed to be
open rather than the reverse.
