Just was curious if anyone has any insight, opinion or bio info about
the director
William Nigh (1881-1955)? His "Desert Nights" (1929) airs tomorrow on
TCM at
Midnight ET.

His directing career lasted from 1914 to 1948, a timeline similar to
that of Christy
Cabanne, although he started not with Griffith but with Lucious
Henderson in early,
fly by night indies in California and directing some of the very first
Columbia Pictures.
Nigh ended his career at Monogram, with "Stage Struck" - actually going
out on a
very good picture.

Nigh also directed:
My Four Years in Germany (1918)
Mr. Wu (1927)
Thunder (1929)
The Mysterious Mr. Wong (1934) and several other Mr. Wong pictures
The Ape (1940)
Lady from ChungKing (1943)
Stage Struck (1948)

I'd be interested in anyone else's suggestions as to notable titles
directed by
William Nigh.

His 1934 picture MYSTERY LINER is a rather nifty little picture with a nice
cast- a nice example of a low budget picture that doesn't look poverty
stricken.
