I'm helping out on a Nordic film festival in Los Angeles this January
and was asked if I can obtain a copy of The Dove AKA Da Duve, 1968, a
very funny spoof of Bergman's Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries.
Anyone know who I could contact that would have a projectable copy?
Uh.. silent film tie-in....Wild Strawberries starred Victor Sjostrom.
Also you guys know where all the bodies (and films) are buried. >> Stay informed about: The Dove, 1968 satire of Bergman |

I hope you find a copy--it's very funny. And Madeline Kahn is in it, too.

I know someone with a 16 mm print, so I forwarded this to him. He send
an email to you at lokkeheiss DeleteThis @yahoo.com but it bounced back. Can you
send me your email address directly?

Didn't Kino handle this at one time? Jessica, can you confirm?

<< Da Duve, 1968, a

The same people also did a spoof of Antonioni films that featured Rene Taylor
among others - don't know the name of the film but maybe it's on imdb under
Taylor's credits. For that matter, maybe imdb could give you some leads as to
the distributer of THE DOVE. Try clicking on "Company Credits.' >> Stay informed about: The Dove, 1968 satire of Bergman |

The spam is getting so bad, it fills up my yahoo account space in
days. It's now cleaned out and ready for mail (at least tonight) if
he wants to try.
I may have access to a local print in LA, but I appreciate his
interest. >> Stay informed about: The Dove, 1968 satire of Bergman |

I know where you can get YET ANOTHER 16mm print of this film. I recommend
strongly that you clear it with the copyright owners before running it,
whoever that may be.

Yes, but way before Jessica's time. Kino had it through Coe Associates in New
York back in the early 1980s, but lost the rights during the time I was there.
I assume Coe is still around.

That was a great little film. I had it on tape from a PBS series
from years ago - I think it was stuck in with the primarily
animation things there were running.
