I'm not a big fan of Dune, but probably many of you here are fans, so
here is an update I just read about the Special Edition DVD that is
reported to be coming out sometime soon on Universal:

Dune (1984 / Special Edition)
Anamorphic video
Dolby 5.1 audio
Both the 137-minute theatrical version, and the 177-minute extended
edition
Behind-the-scenes footage
documentaries on the special effects
visual design and costumes
deleted scenes
original photographs and artwork from the set
List price will be $27.98.
