Thanks for your help.

I own a number of these units and think they are great. It's what we
use on Apprentice, Hell's Kitchen, Last Comic Standing and a number of
other shows.

How's the range on these units, maybe compared with the 211's if
that's fair.
Thanks.

Low powered Sennheiser Tx will not give you near the range of a 100mW
Lectro pack.
But the sennheisers are still very solidly built and the sound quality
is great. The receivers can be a pain because theres no backlight and
they dont give you the info you're used to from a Lectro such as Tx
battery, Rf strength etc

So these units cost more, don't have the range or functionality of a
lectro? Thyen what is their draw. I know i must be missing something?
Is it superior sound quality or ????
thanks

mileages may vary. Jon have you compared these two systems?

At 50 mW, an Audio Ltd 2040 outranges a 100mW of almost anything I've tested.

Yes Ty,
I have worked with the sennheiser system and had far more drop outs
and range issues than with my Lectro 411/UM400s. I worked on a feature
where we had alot of range issues with Audio Ltd 2020's as well. We
ended up flying a boom with dipoles over some of the shots. We were
also on a remore location on the side of a mountain with no high power
TV antennaes in site.
I havent tried the 2040's but I'd love to get my hands on a set

If you are going to compare slot receivers, then you should compare
the Senn to the Lectro SR two channel slot receiver.

From my experience, the more remote the location and the fewer reflective
surfaces like buildings, structures and pavement, the more difficult the
reception issues become as it really gets down to one path/line of site to
the receiver.

Prices dropping on Audio Ltd. in the US? A nice dream, but they've been
sucking up the swing the other way for so long, I doubt we'll see a drop.

I suppose if one were to import them directly you might be able to get a
better US price but the problem seems that Audio Ltd. have always been
ridiculously high priced in the US and even with a little relief from the
exchange rate it would be difficult to justify. I think their pricing and
not their quality has always been the sticking point with US buyers and the
reason one rarely if ever sees an Audio Limited RF system anywhere in the
US. The only place I've ever seen one in my 20 years has been at the NAB
show. Never seen one in use by anyone and have only read about their use in
the US by dramatic mixers.
