I often find myself catching the end, or last half of a movie on TV,
sometimes I already own it on DVD but I find myself compelled to watch
anyway!

So, this week, I saw the last 1/3rd of Serenity - excellent.
And the last 20 minutes of Doomsday - oddly terrible in parts - not a patch
on Dog Soldiers.

I often wonder why I'm watching half of something in a worse resolution
than something I already own and could watch any time with better sound and
higher resolution - but there you go, such is my TV watching experience.

I more or less enjoyed Firefly and Serenity, but it's one of those
things I couldn't tell you three things about once it's not on.

I was watching Zulu in BAAAD Pan & Scan on telly one night with my
daughter. Two sets of ads came and went before I remembered I had it on
DVD in its proper widescreen proportion. Eventually I did go and get it.
Mainly because each set of ads was taking longer than the last. We
watched the rest on dvd and we managed to finish it long before it ended
on telly. Now that I think of it, I believe there was a break for the
news in the middle of it, which is what finally levered me off the couch.

I don't think I've done that before. Like you I'm guilty of watching
stuff I already have if I found it on TV. Not that I watch TV much.

I remember one time renting Tarzan (the awful one with Bo Derek). When
it ended I pressed stop, as one does, and what was on the tv channel
that automatically came on? You guessed it -same film!

I don't watch much telly, but I remember a few years ago seeing a bit
of Alien Resurrection on broadcast. Once it'd hooked me I got up to
get the disc out.
