I've been reading the reviews of Superman Returns, and I've been impressed with the notices Brandon Routh has been getting. Obviously he's going to face comparisons with Christopher Reeve. Can anyone name actors or actresses who have done roles made famous by other people (during approximately the same time of their lives) that have surpassed their predecessors? Hannibal Lecter was famous to those of us who loved Brian Cox in the original Maneater. I'll grant it was a stretch. Hercule Poirot was a guess.
