Ther was this film from the 60s (or 70s) about a girl whos parents drowe her
crazy, and she ended up being unable to do anything, and was used as a
teaching aid for medical students towards the end of the film. She was on
the back of a motorcycle at some point, and it was probably black and white.
I think the point of the film was to show how a perfectly normal person
could be classified as mentally ill by righteous superiors (parents), and
driven mad in the process.
Any idea ?

Hi there.

This sounds like it could be a 1971 Ken Loach movie called Family Life. It
was written by playwright David Mercer and from what I remember was inspired
by the writings controversial psychologist RD Laing.

Family Life actually began life in The Wednesday Play BBC slot as In Two
Minds, also made by Loach and Mercer. Whenever they do Ken Loach
retropsectives this sometimes gets an airing, so it may be worthwhile
keeping an eye on BBC4.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Iain
