Hi,
I'm a senior freelance graphic artist that typically deals with world class
fashion or recreational corporations that are looking for high-quality quick
fixes. Recently, though, I took on a contract to help out an independant
filmmaker (Kevin Kangas, from Marauder Productions) with his movie posters
("Fear of Clowns"), and here was his response after I'd sent my first drafts
to him :
"Man, those are [expletive] awesome. Now I'm pissed I already submitted my
version to the IMDB. I'm [expletive] mesmerized by those posters. They get
me excited. Looks like a real poster all of a sudden. Clearly you know what
you're doing, eh?"
I was flattered that he enjoyed them so much, but what surprised me most was
just how much fun I had doing them. Don't tell my usual fashion-retail /
videogame clients, but despite seeing my previous jobs displayed on
billboards in countries I have yet to visit, I've always been a hollywood
buff at heart, and this was the most fun I've had in a long time, large
scale or not. So I asked Kevin if he'd mind that I use my experiences with
him to try and see if anyone else in his position might need similar help
with THEIR movie-related graphic collateral.
The internet makes it all pretty easy to do. All of the images used in the
posters (and upcoming DVD package design) were sent to me through the net,
and the end result is a high-resolution file that is ready to print on a
large or small surface.
To sample my work, just pop by www[dot]erikashley[dot]com and take a look
around (wouldn't want to add binaries to the group by inserting the images
here). You can easily reach me at the same address.
You'd be surprised what an effect a top quality poster or package design can
have on your returns. Nothing to lose by checking it out.
Regards,
Erik A.
PS: If you know of a better message board for me to post this in where it
can help the most people, please let me know where it is. Thanks!
