Hi Glen,
That is an interesting prediction. Let me just say that only at
Lectro has the president of the company authored a cookbook titled
"One Hundred and One Ways to Make Crow Taste Like Chicken".
Best,

I'm considering the metacorder as a back-up to my Deva. I hate the
DAT being on the cart, but I am not comfortable enough to just run the
Deva all the time, so I run the DAT when I can. I know of a couple of
sound mixers running pro-tools as a back up. It provides an easy way to
access tracks for director review, playback, etc.
No, I don't think it will replace a Deva, yet :-)

The MOTU Traveler offers about what a Metric Halo Mobile IO has offered
for some time now, including the buss-powerability. While MOTU kit is
nifty, in my experience it's also a bit flimsy. MIO's are built like
tanks.

Gallery has been offering Mac-only software since well before OSX showed
up. Heck, their stuff was talk of the town over in DAW-Mac at least as
far back as OS 7.6.

re: invade my startup group and hog
system resources every time I boot my computer until I manually delete
hidden files to put it back to sleep until I want to start it. (specifically
the file qttask.exe)
I really want to know how to do that. every time I install a new version of
quicktime all my video settings are screwed up, my preferences changed without
me knowing and even if I don't want to play in Quicktime I manually have to
adjust file suffixes to get back to win Media player.
.... and I really don't care who is at fault ... but I would love a recipe how to
get rid of the imposed defaults.

Maybe Charlie could give a mini tutorial on cleaning up the quick time
mess... I'm sure there a lot of us out there who are annoyed by this
program's voracious appetite for our time and efforts.
