I use an old evolution set for a link quite often. They have worked fine. I
do however use the plugin transmitter rather then the body pack. They have
the same RF output but seem to work better and dont have the low frequency
problems that the body packs had.

Hi folks!

I´m going to make a video shoot, and the director wants to work
uncabled between camera and sound.
I´ve noticed that I can buy two Sennheiser G2 units for the same price
I´m going to pay to rent two extra wireless for this shoot.
I´m going to work close to the camera, but sometimes I´ll be inside a
crowd, with people between me and the camera. I´ll be recording some
back-up sound in DAT ou Minidisc in more difficult situations.
What do you think - is the G2 good sounding and stable enough to be
the link betwen me and the camera, considering that the audio in camera
should be the final one, or should I rent two Lectro or similar radio
mikes and forget about taking the chance to buy new radio mikes?

Thanks a lot

I was pointing out that while the 744 would produce a good record of the
comparison between different wireless radios, the recorder itself is not
a variable. Any similar recorder should give the same results.

Cheers,
Marty

I'm aware that any decent recorder would give the same results, I merely
used the 744T as an example.
