Post subject: GORGO - 2 different DVDs - which is better?
Archived from groups: alt>movies>monster (more info?)

I bought the original VCI release of Gorgo a year or two ago. While surfing
through the Deep Discount DVD website, I happened upon a different version from
VCI that won't be available until 11/29. The release is called their
"Destruction" edition. The only major differences appear to be different cover
art (this one looks MUCH nicer, and the film itself is listed as being wider
than their first release version (1.85:1, compared to 1.66:1).

I am wondering if anyone has seen screen grabs to compare if the quality of the
video is appreciably better? The disc I have features the same washed
out-looking print of the film I've seen on TV and on videotape for years. If
this 'new' copy isn't a major improvement, I'd just as soon save my money.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

AMC was showing a nice remastered print a few years ago, so I know one
exists. Offhand I don't know the ratio, but it was widescreen....
