Hello everyone
I once saw a 16mm print of a sit down Hitchcock interview conducted
in the mid/early sixties in B&W, and I believe for the BBC originally.
The
interviewer was present as well, but it was a really memorable
interview
with Hitchcock obviously healthy, full of stories, explanations and
anecdotes.
It was shown along with another Hitchcock feature as part of a
Hitchcock
retrospective at an old arthouse cinema in Balboa, Newport Beach.
I have ordered a DVD called "A Conversation with Alfred Hitchcock" but
don't know if this is the interview or not. It was particularly
interesting to see an interview with Hitch close to his most
productive period, with his full energies and confidence.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Vic,
Thanks alot for the great link..."A talk with Alfred Hitchcock" is the
one I ordered.
Actually this other interview was conducted in a talk show type
setting (2 seats, interviewer facing Hitchcock), and is sounding like
the 1966 interview done by George Angell, for BBC Home Services...this
really sounds familiar.

Though unfortunately, I can't any reference to it being available.

I wonder where one might track down 1) Hitchcock (1970)
and 2)Frame By Frame ....they both sound excellent.

Love to get a copy of the Tuffaut interview from '62...

Take care,
Mike

<< This B/W interview program also includes brief segments with
Bernard
Herrmann, Joan Harrison and Norman Lloyd and some rare behind the
scenes footage from MARNIE.
>>

Look forward to seeing footage on the Marnie set...picked up,
"Alfred Hitchcock and The Making of Marnie" recently, an excellent
book with alot of fascinating information about the preparation and
production of the film, highly reccommended to those interested as it
did
myself..love to watch Hitchcock's virtuoso technique in handling this
story cinematically,
backdrops and back projection arguments aside. I was also rather
surprised
to learn in the bibliography, that the assistant director of "The
Birds" and
"Marnie" James H. Brown lives up here in Northern California very
close by me.
I think a talk with him would be very interesting..

Best to everyone,
Mike
