Hi, folks.

I'm flying down to LA this Saturday (6/9); returning the Bay Area Tuesday
(6/12). Any interesting movie events going on--something I can't see the
same way at home?

Thanks,

Lincoln

How about a movie music concert? This is a post from the Film Score
Monthly site:

By: Morricone (Member)

For anyone anywhere near Los Angeles, here is an opportunity to hear
Steven Fox, film music fan/conductor extraordinaire. (Ask Chris Young,
John Ottman, or anyone who's heard him and the Golden State Pops) He
adheres to the original sound and has only a few times throughout the
years reverted to "pop" arrangements.
This time:
World Premiere of "Fantastic 4 Suite" (Ottman)
Superman (Williams)
The Shadow (Goldsmith)
Batman (Elfman)
Spider-man (Elfman)
Rocketeer (Horner)
and more...

Sat 6/9/2007 8:00 PM
Warner Grand Theatre
478 W. 6th St
San Pedro, CA 90731

Ticket Info
Sat 6/9/2007
General Admission ($25) (FoGSPO $10)
Senior ($15) (FoGSPO $10)
Student / Child / Military ($10) (FoGSPO $10)
There will be a Stageside Chat approximately 30 minutes before the
concert start time. Come hear conductor Steven Allen Fox and other
guests as they provide insight into the music that you will hear.

See you there!

If you are near the Hollywood area, there is an exclusive engagement
of Guy Maddin's modern all silent feature length picture BRAND UPON
THE BRAIN! - with the LIVE show running from the Friday the 8th -
Monday the 11th, tickets should still be available for some
performances. Live narrators alternate from night to night, including
people like Barbara Steele and Udo Kier.

Here's the Egyptian website link for all of the details...it should be
a great show.

"Hondo" -> So bad its good, and good. - I love this film. It celebrates the fierce individual, has great (and generally credible) action sequences, beautiful landscapes, interesting (and rather pagan) story, and reasonable acting. But it's also quite funny on several fronts. JW has his..

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly(1966) - I want to know how many people consider this art, and not just another cheesy western. For me, Morricone's soundtrack alone is art.

Good Will Hunting - Am I correct in my conclusion that the end of the movie indicates that Will Hunting decides **NOT** to pursue his mathematics gifts (throwing it away, in my estimation)? JB

Good "under-acting" - The idea for this thread came from my reading and contributing to another thread here, "The Gamut of Emotions from A to A". I'm not quoting anyone in particular here, so I deliberately didn't include anything from that thread. But if you review...
