Goonies 2 Casts Data And Chunk
By Mack Rawden: 2007-10-23 15:45:42
Goonies 2 Casts Data And Chunk A lot of people swear by The Goonies,
babble on about how much it meant to them growing up. I don't share
those sentiments. I was seventeen the first time I saw this hogwash,
and I hated it. A lot. It's just a bunch of nosey, meddling kids
running around in a cave trying to stop a golf course from being
built. I love golf. How am I supposed to get behind that premise? Much
to my chagrin, The Goonies has developed quite a cult following over
the years. The live-action sequel seems to be D.O.A., but now
producers are ready for an animated version, which they have recently
begun casting.
According to Empire, Chunk actor Larry Cohen has been tapped to join
Corey Feldman and Jonathan Ke Quan to provide voices for the series.
Original director Richard Donner and producer Steven Spielberg will
also return. When is this movie going to die? I loved The Mighty Ducks
when I was a kid, but I haven't created a petition asking more films
be added to the franchise. Here's to hoping fan support slowly starts
dwindling. It would be fitting since the credibility of everyone
involved is doing much the same.

I was 26 when it came out and I still like it. It reminded me of
the sorts of things we'd see on the Walt Disney show (whatever
it called itself at various times) Sunday night. Kids getting
into an adventure. I'm sure a lot of those old Disney movies
or episodes won't stand up that well if I watched them now, but
Goonies had it and still has it. "Moonspinners" with Hayley Mills
was wonderful, and there were so many others that I remember little
about but wish I could see today.
I think it's telling, and sad, that we don't see that sort of
thing on network tv anymore. Sitting at home watching the
adventures, we may not have lived them, but we wished we could.
If kids today don't see such adventures, then how can they dream?
