I don't know if Chaplin said that in exactly those words, but it
sounds a bit like
Shadov's advice to Rupert in _A King in New York_, and in the Vreeland
interview
I referred to in another post, Chaplin says, "Nothing in life is
lasting or important"
(p. 56).
But I don't believe that Essanay had 16mm safety film prints to give
away to
former employees when the company went under. :-)
