Hi folks,

I've got one of them old fashioned (!) CRT tellys; a 36" Sony
KV-36FS70 to be precise and I'm idly wondering whether it would be
possible to hook it up to HD source ie SKY HD or an HD-DVD / Blu-Ray
player and if I could would there be any point? That is, would the
picture I get from this be any better than I'm currently getting from
standard DVDs?

I can handle the cost of upgrading a DVD player but I can't really
justfy ditching a four year old £2k telly that I couldn't shift for a
tenner on ebay :)

Any help gratefuul received.

Mik

you could connect the HD gear, but only at regular SD resolution - so in
most ways it would be a waste of time....

I'm very happy in a similar boat. We have a SOny KV32FX20 which is a 32"
50Hz with no trickery. We get a very good picture from DVDs, normal Sky
and our Tivo using an RGB lead.

We probably won't replace the TV until it dies. Then we'll get a 50"
flat screen and there won't be a premium for full HD-kit. However,
they'll probably we trying to sell us double or quad HD by then!
