Like the look of this JVC HDD recorder - but I'll have to check and
double check to see if it will be of any use to me as a few years
ago I bought a JVC VCR that supposedly could change channels on sky
digital boxes - unfortunately it turned out that it was incompatible with
my Grundig digibox for some reason.

Was bloody annoying especially as I'd requested a Pace box when I ordered
Sky Digital (which would have been compatible with it)!

I was lucky with my Toshiba RD-XS32 - it didn't list the current Pace box
either and Toshiba confirmed they wouldn't be updating the support. OK I
thought perhaps I'll just try entering the setup code for all the UK options
I could think of (as Pace wouldn't give me any hints as to any clones).
First one I tried- A for Amstrad - worked fine....Lucky as the code list
must be about 90 different codes.

Perhaps the same would work with the JVC?

All the Sky boxes should work of the same code shouldn't they, after all
they don't come with model/brand specific remotes. Also curious why you
would want the recorder to change the channel, could you not use the
reminder function on Sky to automatically change channels when the required
program is about to start.

The regular Sky digibox & Sky+ use different codes which can be useful if
operating two digiboxes in the same room.

It is more convenient to have the PVR change the channels as it means one less
thing to do in order to set up a recording.

You'd have thought that wouldn't you? However, at the bottom of the list
it said "not compatible with Grundig"
