If you have to jam the camera and use free.run, make sure to jam after a
tape change IF the cam op is changing the user-bit of the TC (or whenever he
does!). The change of the user bit should be done in a specific order:
1- TC switch to USER BIT
2- FREE-RUN switch to SET
3- make the change
4- SET switch to FREE-RUN
5- USER BIT switch to TC
failing this order (like switch USERBIT to TC before SET to FREE-RUN) would
completely mess the TC running (few seconds jumps) and you have to jam
again.
In the heat of the shoot the cam op often can-t keep this order and free-run
TC is way far out.
So better re-jam as safety whenever there is a change.
Another thing important to know with the HDX900:
the DC out 12v hirose 4 pin plug is not standard:
pin1: ground (V negative) and pin4: +12v as usual, BUT pin 2 and 3 are used
for a remote record switch + tally !
So be carefull how your DC cable to HF receivers are made, if you use any.

Thanks, I may not even need to sync TC. Doing a 2 cam 3 day shoot and
just want to be prepared in case something comes up.
