Archived from groups: uk>media>home-cinema (more info?)

Thinking of getting a PC for use as a HTPC. Obviously quiet components are
required, but does it need to be a huge spec?
Was thinking of the lowest spec Core 2 Duo, along with 1gb of dual channel
memory and a large HDD (around 400 gb).

Anyone else have a HTPC, what are your recommendations regarding components?

Would like it to be able to handle high res (HDTV) DivX files.

HTPC would be connected to either a Samsung 32 or 37" LCD TV.
