| Last Sunday's broadcast was a rerun of the first show because
of the Academy Awards. This Sunday's broadcast will be new.
If the time is the same as the first one it will be 10 PM, Fox News
Channel.
Watch it to see what Keith Olbermann is so afraid of.

(Me, I'm "afraid" that Fox might never cancel MadTV, either, but don't
think that's what we're talking about, here...)

All that timely humor about the ACLU and Ed Begley Jr. has the entire
left wing of America shaking in their boots. Maybe this Sunday they
can do jokes about Billy Carter. >> Stay informed about: Half Hour News Hour, 2nd episode |

The Daily Show and Colbert wont be hard to beat. After seeing
short clips from the Daily show for years, which usually were
pretty good, I started taping the two shows lately for next day
viewing. But I gave that up because their whole shows usually are
only lame jabbing at the right, endlessly. I'll just stick to their
best clips, as shown on other shows, from now on.
I thought the loud audience on HHNH was a little much, but then
I heard the much louder Stewart and Colbert audiences. HHNH
really doesn't have much of a high bar to reach for. ITEM: Colbert
reads Ayn Rand to children, calls them little 'shrugging Atlases',
tells them not to share their cookies, then says, "I am Howard Ruark".
Hysterical (to you guys, I guess). >> Stay informed about: Half Hour News Hour, 2nd episode |

The other show Fox had on last Sunday night after The Half Hour News
Hour rerun (wow, after only one week) there was some other Fox
"cutting edge comedy" show that had Michelle Malkin doing a skit about
how to get out of a car without flashing twat. I'm sure that one got
a lot of healthy middle-aged male Fox viewer's blood rushing. It was
also a good example of Fox's Mallard Fillmore-esque haibit of being a
few weeks behind everyone else. They're on a pop culture tape
delay. >> Stay informed about: Half Hour News Hour, 2nd episode |

One that was funny, and not just a political jab. Goron Moron here
gets approval from you and yours simply for aiming barbs at me that
have not a glimmer of humor in them. >> Stay informed about: Half Hour News Hour, 2nd episode |

You're making too many assumptions based on the first show,
which I already explained was taped a month in advance, and
I already explained why the second week was a rerun (the
Oscars). I know you have enough sense to know that comedy
shows need a little time to find a stride. The first Seinfeld was
lame compared to the others. But then, why should I expect an
attitude of fairness from the left? >> Stay informed about: Half Hour News Hour, 2nd episode |

Nice theory, filled with assumptions that may or may not
be true. An opportunity for a great skit this week is the
Libby trial. Hopefully the new show will deal with it soon.
An (untimely) skit might have to do with Sandy Berger at the
National Archives. The 'official' explanation for his behavior
was that he is messy and fumbling, and people have testified
to his always messy and littered desk. (Anyone who buys
that is a fool, though of course not fool enough to believe
that Libby had memory lapses.)
But, simply go with that as being the truth, and show Berger
bumbling and fumbling and explaining to the clerks what is
going on. It could be hilarious without even offering the
'paranoid' explanation that Berger was seeking to shield
the Clinton Administration from the 9/11 Committee's
investigation. >> Stay informed about: Half Hour News Hour, 2nd episode |

Counterexamples: Bush uses self-deprecating humor
all the time. Watch a press conference now and then.
On FOX, O'Reilly uses self-deprecating humor on every show.
Hannity does it on his radio show. >> Stay informed about: Half Hour News Hour, 2nd episode |

Your definition, and there's no reason to doubt that you prefer
humor as you define it. But the field is broad, and the kind of
humor that you thanked me for giving for your illustration is
rampant on the shows that HHNH is presumed to be modeled
after, namely the three that I listed. >> Stay informed about: Half Hour News Hour, 2nd episode |
