Saw the latest HP film, having seen the first - found it dragged a bit; lot
of time waiting for something to *really* happen. My only real interest was
in the backward time-travel segment: this had a novel twist, in that the two
who went back in time watched themselves in action-replay. Never seen this
done before, but question its validity; after all, going back in time is a
recapitulation of self and others, not a detached view of history. Still,
this is on a par with the paradox of Terminator One - the father of John
Connor comes from the future.

You do actually set out to write totally stupid reviews, right?
I take it you have never seen Back To The Future II if you think what
happened in HPIII is novel. >> Stay informed about: Harry Potter - spoilers! |

That's right - I haven't see "Back to The Future II" - must catch up on
that. But I have recently seen again "Tomorrow is Yesterday" in the original
Star Trek series.

I hate to break it to you but we can't actually time travel so we
don't know what would happen if we could.

You've never seen any of the Back to the Future movies?

All time travel is inherently paradoxical. Pointing out faults in it is
redundant.

I time travel every night.
I go to bed and then the next thing I know I am several hours into the
future.

I'll list all movies which have Time Travel in them, and research them -
also the full implications of TT (esp. back in time).
=========
Saw "Shrek 2" yesterday - sorry, but it leaves HP for dead. Very enjoyable,
with a lot of "magic" in it; plus humour, intrigue, romance, adventure.
Suitable for us kids of all ages. (Hint: If you want to see the Dragon
again, stay till the end-credits roll.)

You are writing as if there were a multiude of people on the group
suggesting that HP3 was a 'better' movie than Shrek 2. Who are you
apologising to? >> Stay informed about: Harry Potter - spoilers! |

I don't think so far there has been a word written in review of Shrek 2 on
this newsgroup to date.
Fantasy/ sci-fi related movies get 300 posts (and politics or religion for
that matter) regardless of the health of the group's number of subscribed
readers.
Of course, there's not much to say about Shrek 2:- it's a solidly
entertaining film. Not really too much to discuss. Still, would be good to
see some variety of films mentioned in here. >> Stay informed about: Harry Potter - spoilers! |
