Did the "father" talk about sunscreen a lot?
If so, it's "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)". It's actually
supposed to be a graduation speech. I don't recall it being in a
movie, although it was produced by director Baz Luhrman. It was kind
of a semi-hit 5 or 6 years ago. It was based on an urban legend that
Kurt Vonnegut had delivered it as a commencement address at some
college. It was actually taken from a newspaper column. I was working
in a record store at the time, and we couldn't keep it in the store
for a few weeks around graduation. Then it died off and we were stuck
with boxes of it.
I believe the album was called "Something For Everyone" and was
credited to Baz Luhrman. It was really just a mash-up of various types
of music, but pretty interesting. I believe the beat was taken from a
popular dance song called "Everybody's Free", which explains the
title. I don't know if it's still in print, but I bet there are a lot
of used copies floating around the country.
