I need help with the title of a movie I saw once as a youngster in the
late 60's. At the time, the movie had an effect on me (i.e. scared me
witless). Enough of an effect that I still think about it from time to
time and have researched it to no avail. Now, I turn to you enlightened
folks. From my memory, I would guess the film is from the 50's. It is
B&W. Here is what I remember: It takes place in a small town set on a
cliff above the sea. The cliff has a cave where the man-sized monster
lives. The monster roams around town tearing off the heads of
townsfolk, and walks around with the heads stuck to it's
three(?)-fingered hands. One scene has a stricken father carrying the
headless body of his young daughter down the street. Another scene is
that of some of the townsfolk finding heads lined up in the monster's
cave. That is all that I remember. Any ideas? I would really like to
learn more about this movie, and possibly see it again. Thank you!

The movie you're looking for is THE MONSTER OF PIEDRAS BLANCAS -- made
in 1959, directed by Irvin Berwick, starring Les Tremayne. Make-up
effects for the film were supervised by Jack Kevan, who also designed
the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
