Ya see,

Ever since your stupendously wonderful Arbuckle set landed in my collection,
I've been hankering for more, and apparently there's a second set in the
works, but it's been awhile since your site has been updated...in fact, I
may be blind, but I don't even see a mention of Industrial Strength Keaton
on it! Can you give us AMS'ers some inside info on what you have in store
for the near (and distant) future? Will we see Arbuckle II: Roscoe's
Revenge this year? Will it contain FATTY AND MABEL ADRIFT, by all accounts
an excellent film which I have yet to see? How about THE COOK and RECKLESS
ROMEO? Yes, I know, they've been released already, but it would be nice to
have these rediscovered gems included in a more comprehensive set. Can I
pathetically grovel and beg you to restore MOONSHINE by melding the
fragments of good-quality 35mm footage with the inferior 16mm footage so at
least it's complete and as good quality as possible? Ditto with OUT WEST,
which, even in the "Best Arbuckle/Keaton" set is still missing some bits
which could be spliced in from the print featured in the other set? Are you
still planning on going ahead with the Mabel Normand set? The Chaplin
imitators set? Is there anything else on your slate I need to prematurely
salivate over???

Indeed, the website has been sorely
neglected lo these many months --
our merry band has been otherwise
occupied with a massive amount of
comedy reconstruction work since
the release of ISK. The hazards of
being a small company.

However, fear not! We are toiling away
on several new collections which, I hope,
will set a new standard for us. More, the
new LEI website, which was supposed
to go live months ago, is finally ready.
Just need time to update everything.

I am bound from revealing details of our
current plans, but you can bet that the
Our Gang set, Mabel Normand, Arbuckle
Volume II and others will be available
before you can say "I wish that someone
would do a Lloyd Hamilton collection..."

Sit tight. ;)

Interesting...I was unfamiliar with this company until this post.

Hamilton sets if they come out!!

....Lloyd Hamilton? Would that include A Twilight Baby and Punch of the
Irish? Maybe? Perhaps?

Lloyd Hamilton...fantastic. Long live the Silent Comedy Mafia. I hope that
said Mafia also sees fit to bless us with a comprehensive Larry Semon
collection, including a film I've heard many good things about, FRAUDS AND
FRENZIES. Liner notes by Richard Roberts would be perfect for that...his
in-depth three-part article for Classic Images is incredible.

They are nice people, the transfers are excellent, but take my advice
and see if they will ship via UPS rather than USPS.

Why would anyone willingly want to watch a Larry Semon film? -- Oh,
nevermind... ;-).

I've never seen one, but am always willing to try something I've heard good
things about. Both Richard Roberts and the guy who did the Slaphappy series
vouch for Semon's good stuff, so that's good enough for me to give it a go.
He's gotta be better than Harry Langdon, anyway...that is, if the three
features on the Langdon DVD are supposed to be indicative of his better
work.

I don't think he is nearly as good as Harry Langdon, but Semon's films are
funny in a comic-overkill sort of way. They are certainly worth seeing.
