According to his Autobio, after the release of The Great Dictator, a
'young New York scion' asked Chaplin why he was so anti-Nazi.

Chaplin replied that it was because the Nazis were 'anti-people'

"Of course, you're a Jew," his questioner noted.

"One doesn't have to be a Jew to be anti-Nazi," Chaplin replied. "All
one has to be is a normal decent human being."

At the Conservative convention where several presidential hopefuls
gave speeches, the poster girl for the ultra-right-wing extremists
(who has been hailed by a poster on this board as a
'mainstream Reagan republican' and an 'honorable, decent, courageous,
brilliant
woman') felt it was a reasonable and proper mode of political
discourse to refer to a Democratic
candidate as a "faggot".

The thunderous applause which greeted this witty quip was entirely
commensurate
with the viewpoint expressed by a party which sought to have bigotry
written into
the Constitution - a piece of politcal theater whose entire purpose
was to exploit
prejudice for politcal purposes.

It is not clear whether the ultra-right-wing extremists are "anti-
people",
but they are certainly "anti-American-people" in view of how they
rushed young
Americans off to fight and die on a dishonest pretext and deprived
them of the proper protection, in view of how they allowed
an entire American city to be washed off the map, in view of how they
sorely failed
the young Americans who have returned from their war at Walter Reed
and elsewhere.

And, as 70% of the American people have come to realize, one doesn't
have to
be homosexual, a "Bush-basher", or even a Democrat to oppose the
treasonous
betrayal these ultra-right-wing extemists have perpetrated on the
American people.

All one has to be is a normal, decent human being.

Chaplin, Hitler and...Coulter? You give Ann Coulter far too much
credit. "Only cream and bastards rise." No one will remember Coulter
in 20 years.

Well, I did give Coulter last billing...

But the same poster here who called Ann Coulter
an "honorable, decent, courageous, brilliant woman"
says that she is the face of modern conservatism
just as William F. Buckley was in his time.

Given her past mocking of 9-11 widows, her
wholehearted support for diverting all resources
from pursuing the perpetrator of 9-11 to sinking them
into a crackpot neocon war, and her hissing of the term
"faggot!" at anyone who disagrees, I completely concur.

Oh, no.

I 'got it'.

As did all the Republican presidential candidates
who have disavowed her.

That you haven't shows you to be the out-of-
the-mainstream right-wing extremist you are.

She used the term 'faggot' pejoratively.

To you, that's fine.

Nice to see your true colors in all their wonderful glory.

Yeah, those 'faggots'! They're so all wussy!

It isn't hard now to connect the dots and discern the true
underpinnings of your political 'ideology'.

It was an act of bigotry.

She used a term which is a denigrating term
towards a group of people, in a pejorative manner
towards someone she intended to smear with the
negative stereotypes associated with that term.

That's bigotry.

Which you don't understand, or maybe you *do* -

- because you're a bigot.

What she did in calling him 'faggot' in denigrating
his politics as 'sissified' was no different than if she had called
him 'kike' to say he was 'stingy', or 'nigger' to imply he was 'lazy'
-
or used any of the other demaning terms bigots like
yourself have used to ascribe negative qualities to anyone
not like yourself.

Weird that you can't see that.

Or rather, not so weird.

In any case good to see the bigotry which lies at the
heart of your political philosophy - and for which your
'philosophy' is an elaborate justification - exposed.

You've succeeded in confirming the suspicions of a lot
of people on this board.

Ooh, that golden oldie from the mid-90's,
"Politically Correct".

That ol' bugaboo that stops you from expressing your hatred
towards any minority you see fit with impunity.

Oh, for the 'good' old days, eh Shelps? When you could keep'em
all in their places.

And "Gestapo", too!

Projecting much?

Nope. To bigots like Coulter and yourself all
"faggots" are "sissies" - the meaning you attach to her slur derives
from that definition.

You defend her use of that epithet and of the
logic behind it: you're a redneck bigot.

Incidentally, that very bigotry you and Coulter
share - among many other things - makes you traitors
to the American spirit of equality and tolerance.

Most Americans realize that - that's why they're
rejecting you and the rest of the vile right-wing extremists.

Geez. You're not only evil but stupid.

Read above: "the negative stereotypes asscoiated with that term"

That's right.

You're not a patriot at all.

You're an ultra-right-wing extremist who loyalty to an anti-
democratic,
authoritarian ideology far exceeds your loyalty to your country.

In your books, one has to be 'loony left' in your view to object to
someone using the word
'faggot' in political discourse.

But just now I'm trying to think of a reason why I - or anyone -
should care about the thoughts of someone who's revealed himself
to be a neanderthal hate-filled bigot.

Nope. Can't think of one.

Wowee, here we go folks.

So: because it's disapproved of in your holy book, you think it's okay
to call someone a "faggot".

What next?

You know a person realizes they have no point when
they start making these fine (and false) distinctions.

But Shelps can't simply admit Coulter's remark was inappropriate.

He has to hold on to the bitter end.

He doesn't care about the truth.

His only loyalty is to his ultra-right wing ideology.

That's why he's A-ok with the reckless trashing of the country
and the killing and maiming of thousands based on lies.

What does he care?

Party loyalty is all!

I guess they 'believe' it whether I 'allow' it or not.

I'm sure there's a point you're trying to make here.

Why not think it through and try again later?

If your constant stewing about how much you hate 'fags'
and women allows you any time to do so.
