The Host.

I finally got a chance to see this movie and for me it lived up to all
the hype. I thought that it had all the elements needed for a good
story, family conflict, family bonding, a cool monster and a small
amount of comedy.

I loved how the family memebers came together despite their
differences to rescue the missing daughter. The monster or The Host,
wasn't as badly rendered as I thought it would be. I recently learned
that the Special Effects company that created this monster is the same
one that created creatures for the Lord Of The Rings movies. They also
did work on the Jet Li film "Hero" and "Star Wars: Episode I". But
enough about that, the story was actually good for a 'horror' film. The
cast did a great job in selling their parts and you will really be
rooting for their success. I have to add that not all of the movie was
good, the end of it left me with some questions that I really need
cleared up. I guess that out of USA'er I should be upset at some of the
biased against us but that really didn't bother me. I guess it wasn't
any worse than the initial Gojira story line.

If I have to rate it I'd give it an 87%. For me this movie was many
times better than "300". But then I seem to be the only one that didn't
think "300" was as good as the hype. That one is one me.
