Archived from groups: uk>media>home-cinema (more info?)

I have my PC currently connected to my AV AMp via Optical leads, but I now
need to use this input on my amp for another device and so am now going to
use the 5.1 input. Therefore I require 3 or 4 leads.

Are there any premade leads with all connectors on? Where can I get them
from? Sound card is a Creative Live! 5.1 Platinum.

I also wondered if there was any way of having a scart socket on the back of
my PC. Are there any new AGP Cards available that offer this??

TIA

You can buy jack-phono leads easy enough - you may even have got one or two
with the soundcard.

Unlikely - but a number do have SVideo Din sockets & you can get SVideo DIN
to SCART cables (or an adapter) easy enough.

Try the usual suspects - Lectropaks, Keene or Maplin.

I.

You can "wire or" optical leads, and this will work fine as long as you
don't run two input devices at the same time.

This is not the best solution because at the least what you want is RGB SCART
not composite. The only way that I have found is a VGA->RGB SCART convertor at
between 50 & 100 quid.

I do have a few of these, there not long enough, so I was seeking an
alternative to extension leads and just thought they may already produce
leads that have the required plugs on each end. I'd tried Maplin, but I
guess I may build them instead!!
